The Security RPAS Engineer will be based at one of Rocketmine’s customer sites, working in close partnership with Rocketmine’s clients. The Security RPAS Engineer will be responsible for effectively operating a drone to gather and detect any incidents and/or threats using a drone.
Responsibilities & Duties
(Including but are not limited to the below)
- Executing and supervising all flights and maintenance activities at the site of operation which includes conducting thorough preparation to fly a drone, completing the relevant documentation and accurate flight planning processes
- Conduct aerial surveying using drones for security procedures by determining the location and the nature of any abnormal or irregular activities
- Recognize and respond immediately to emergency situations by following Rocketmine’s and the Client’s Emergency and Safety procedures
- Determine and communicate the location and nature of any abnormal or irregular conditions. Responsible for taking corrective measures within the scope of security operations
- Accountable for the safe operation of each RPAS
- Submitting flight and maintenance documentation, inclusive of all flight operational documents per flight
- Maintaining a high level of compliance with the SA/CAA regulations and requirements by aligning all documentation and processes to Rocketmine’s ROM (RPAS Operations Manual)
- Being a brand ambassador for Rocketmine
- Ad-hoc duties
Qualifications
- Grade 12
- Rated to fly fixed wing / multi rotor aircraft
- Must have a valid Remote Pilot License
- Rated on BVLOS (desirable)
- Must have reliable vehicle
- PSIRA certificate(desirable)
- Valid Driving License
Experience
- Minimum of 10 flying hours
- Must be willing to work night shifts.
